Lute FP Holy crap, this is good. Want to know how it sounds? Think the mellow sections of Opeth’s Blackwater Park, but informed by dark country roots, rather than black metal. This is lush, sonically captivating, heavy, melodic, brilliant progressive rock.

You don’t know Blackwater Park, you say? Well, I feel badly for you. Instead of discussing it, just find it, listen to it, and thank me later. And no skipping about, it is an opus meant to be listened to from start to finish.

Your Angels 02:51
Human bleedings on the wall Black shape fleeing down the hall Your angels, your angels... Where are they now? Human bleedings on the track Slip through the crack, break your mother's back Human bleedings on the page Your heaven on earth Your cage

Dead river flows through a dead-ass town Dead people wander round Dead sky rains down on a dead ground Are you gonna drown? Dead time for me Dead company Deathly strange breeze Howling through the trees Warnings never heed Never believe Dead time for me Dead company

Spell 03:06
She stole the heavens from your sky And showed a broken man to fly Cast a spell to block the sun And shone her light on everyone She cast your past into the well No future but you'll live to tell She led you to a river red Kaleidoscopes, loved ones undead Smiled and whispered in your ear Secrets that you've longed to hear Of visions, music in the wind No more pain. Magic. Light within...

Crazy's not the word for me Brain-dead and out of my head I'm alright the world's wrong And everywhere I go, I feel... I don't belong Brainwashed, have no thoughts of my own Not free...they won't leave me be

about

My music is meant to be the heaviest stuff I can possibly play on acoustic guitar, while hoping to not sound ridiculous about it. Singing (sort of) about things that make me feel something...trying to bring out the heavy in the acoustic guitar, but hopefully honoring the beauty that the instrument brings out of me when I'm playing it. God damn, I don't know where I'd be without music in my life. - Jeff

Jeff Sanders - vocals, guitars, synths, field recording
Steve Riley - drums and percussion
Kurt Baumer - violins
Dave DeMarco - bass guitars, baritone guitar on "Asylum Acres"
Bass on "Spell" by Phil Rohr

"Asylum Acres" is sort of a concept album about places you'd visit in dreams, out of body experiences, astral projection etc. Not a "musical novel", but more like a collection of horror/suspense short stories (think Poe, Lovecraft or Stephen King) - laced with mystical and organic sound. These songs are as dark as they are strangely uplifting.

Recorded and engineered by Sanders, DeMarco, Baumer and Riley
Mixed by Johnny Geib at 10X10 Studios
Mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk at Stereophonic Mastering
Cover Artwork by Richey Beckett
Bandcamp header and page design by Grind Bros.

Thank you for spending your hard-earned money on my music, Dear Listener.
Your honesty and integrity are appreciated. Your support means so much to me.

This album is dedicated in loving memory to Bertha Y. Boucher.
I miss you, Mémère.

"“Asylum Acres” brings a breath of fresh air into a style of music that otherwise suffers from stale, monotonous approaches; and Mountain Mirrors certainly isn’t afraid of letting in one or two influences outside the folk acoustic genre either – prog rock and grunge specifically. This EP is the soundtrack to overcast nights, while alone at your desk with candlelight during a power cut as you watch one or two soaking pedestrians hurry along deserted pavements. It has that mournful and life-pondering feel but without being depressing in the slightest, acting more as an insightful window into another lifetime." - Richreviewz
