Immortal Deadbeats

about

This sort of a Led Zep/Days of the New style song is inspired by all the people I see just going nowhere in life. No class, no regard for others. Leaching off of society. And it amazes me that these people seem to have nine lives! And the people who struggle to do the right thing get the shit end of the stick all too often.

It's also inspired in part by one of my favorite songs, "River Bottom Nightmare Band" from Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas.

lyrics

Immortal deadbeats with zombie eyes
forsaken vultures in fractured black skies
unfeeling angels on powertrip planes
half-eaten mindrats drain rivers of pain
Crawl back in your hole if you can't breathe
this evil air
or grow yourself a pair and rise above
this nightmare
Blue-blooded weirdos scowl
foolishness curse
nuked cyclops babies inherit the earth
aftermath zeros spill suicide vibes
spiral noose halos fiending hourglass bribes
Curl up in the corner if you can't believe
the end is near
or grow yourself a pair and rise above
this nightmare
